We prepare students for life in modern Britain by developing their understanding of ‘fundamental British Values’. These are:
- Democracy.
- The rule of law.
- Individual liberty.
- Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, and for those without faith.
Through this process our students learn about themselves and the lives of others. Students will:
- Develop self-confidence whilst learning to distinguish right from wrong and how to respect the civil and criminal law of Britain.
- Be encouraged to take responsibility, show initiative, and learn how as individuals they contribute as members of society.
- Learn about and develop respect for public institutions and services in Britain.
- Further develop their understanding and respect for their own and other cultures.
- Take part in democratic processes and learn about the ways in which democracy is enacted in Britain.
